An anonymous photographic study of identity, vulnerability, privacy, and the human form. 100 bodies. 100 fragments. One shared room. No one knows who belongs to whom.
We know people by their faces, names, clothes, jobs, histories, and the versions of themselves they choose to show us.
Hidden In Plain Sight removes almost all of that. One hundred consenting adults will contribute one anonymous photograph focused solely on the genital area, paired only with a nickname, age, and one sentence describing themselves.
The work asks whether something can be deeply personal and completely anonymous at the same time, and what happens when we share that vulnerability without being able to assign it to a person.

The central tension of the exhibitionParticipants enter individually. Inside is a fully enclosed private structure with a single square opening sized only for the intended composition.
The participant lowers clothing from the waist down in privacy. The photograph captures only the genital area. No face, upper body, clothing, tattoo, jewelry, or other identifying feature is intended to appear in the frame.
You enter the controlled space individually.
Inside the enclosure, you privately prepare for the photograph.
One anonymous frame focuses solely on the genital area.
A nickname, your age, and one sentence about yourself accompany the image.
The photograph is intimate. The identity behind it remains private.
The composition is intentionally restricted to the project’s defined area.
Only your chosen nickname, age, and one sentence appear with the work.
The exhibition will not disclose which participant belongs to which photograph.
Every participant will be invited into the finished exhibition alongside the other contributors.
The room becomes the second half of the work. You may be standing beside the person whose image is directly in front of you. Someone may be looking at yours. Neither of you will know.
That uncertainty is intentional: a shared act of exposure without the social identity normally attached to it. The project shifts attention away from ownership and toward perception, what we assume, compare, recognize, normalize, or project onto a body when its story has been removed.
